# Cursor

> Automatic conversation capture from Cursor.

# Cursor Integration

BaseLayer captures your Cursor AI conversations automatically through the desktop app's IDE watcher. No extension or plugin needed.

## How it works

The BaseLayer desktop app monitors Cursor's conversation files on your machine. When you chat with Cursor's AI assistant, the conversation is detected and sent to your memory.

## Setup

No setup required. Just make sure:

1. The **BaseLayer desktop app** is running
2. **IDE Watchers** are enabled in Settings

To verify: open the BaseLayer desktop app → **Settings → IDE Watchers**. You should see Cursor listed with a status indicator.

## What gets captured

All conversations with Cursor's AI features are captured, including:

* Chat panel conversations
* Inline edits and suggestions
* Composer sessions

## Verify it's working

After chatting in Cursor, open BaseLayer and check **Settings → IDE Watchers**. You'll see recent Cursor activity with timestamps.

You can also ask any MCP-connected AI:

> "What Cursor conversations have I had recently?"

<Tip>The IDE watcher runs silently in the background. You don't need to do anything differently in Cursor. Just code as you normally would.</Tip>

## Recall (MCP setup)

To give Cursor access to your knowledge graph, add BaseLayer as an MCP server. The easiest way is through the **Connections** tab in the BaseLayer desktop app, which configures it automatically.

To set it up manually, add this to your Cursor MCP configuration (`~/.cursor/mcp.json`):

```json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "baselayer": {
      "url": "https://api.baselayer.id/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Restart Cursor to activate the connection.
