Claude.ai Integration

Connect BaseLayer to Claude.ai so Claude can search your knowledge vault, store new information, and maintain context across conversations.

Setup

  1. Go to claude.ai → Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Add MCP Integration
  3. Enter the server URL: 
    https://api.baselayer.id/mcp
  4. Claude will redirect you to BaseLayer’s OAuth page
  5. Sign in with your BaseLayer account and click Allow
  6. Done. Claude now has access to your vault
You only need to do this once. Claude will remember the connection across sessions.

Using it

Once connected, Claude can automatically use BaseLayer tools. You’ll see tool calls like recall, remember, and recent appear in your conversations. Automatic context loading: Claude may call recent at the start of a conversation to check for relevant context from your vault. Search your vault: Ask Claude anything about past conversations:
“What did I decide about the database migration last week?”
“Who was I talking to about the API redesign?”
“What’s the current status of Project Atlas?”
Store new knowledge: Claude can save important information to your vault:
“Remember that we decided to use PostgreSQL for the new service.”

Verify the connection

To check that BaseLayer is connected, ask Claude:
“Can you check my BaseLayer status?”
Claude should call the status tool and show you your vault statistics: entity count, graph health, and recent activity.

Disconnect

To remove the connection, go to Settings → Integrations in Claude.ai and remove the BaseLayer integration.
