Cursor Integration
BaseLayer captures your Cursor AI conversations automatically through the desktop app’s IDE watcher. No extension or plugin needed.
How it works
The BaseLayer desktop app monitors Cursor’s conversation files on your machine. When you chat with Cursor’s AI assistant, the conversation is detected and sent to your vault.
Setup
No setup required. Just make sure:
- The BaseLayer desktop app is running
- IDE Watchers are enabled in Settings
To verify: open the BaseLayer desktop app → Settings → IDE Watchers. You should see Cursor listed with a status indicator.
What gets captured
All conversations with Cursor’s AI features are captured, including:
- Chat panel conversations
- Inline edits and suggestions
- Composer sessions
Verify it’s working
After chatting in Cursor, open BaseLayer and check Settings → IDE Watchers. You’ll see recent Cursor activity with timestamps.
You can also ask any MCP-connected AI:
“What Cursor conversations have I had recently?”
The IDE watcher runs silently in the background. You don’t need to do anything differently in Cursor. Just code as you normally would.
